So here’s a glossary for you

- 3Moons: Ultra Corporation that makes everything. Also mysterious Guild that controls Knights of the Seed Lands. Also three actual moons.
- Acid Cola: Disgusting but popular beverage brand. Sponsors psychos like Piero.
- Adira of Rayse: One of the most exalted & formidable paladins of the Temple. Second only to Elayda in battle prowess, Adira lead the Dead God's Army against the hordes of Un when her superior broke her Sacred Lines and absconded with The Cleave of Rin, Irla.
- Agnar: Famous Katana blade of both Leonard & The Endling. Origin unknown.
- Baiden the Archer: Young archer who came to possess the famous Swan Bow from Elayda. How he got it is unknown - he may have been a lover or a thief.
- Bay of Gilded, The: Large bay on the East coast of The Continent. Shipping hub for the entire continent. Edged by the famous Auric Coast.
- Blackbone: Bone disease that afflicts those who breath the toxic air of New Kyushu and surrounding lands for too long. Unpleasant. Deeply, deeply unpleasant. And slow.
- Bouncer-X: Infamous & feared doorwoman at the VIP section of The Dead God’s Garden nightclub, New Kyushu.
- Bria of Kreyte: Famous warrior from The Nightcutter mountains who gained control of the city of Kreyte & the Granite Throne after the War against the Un.
- BrightThorn: Brand that specialize in making spears. Also make aftershave.
- Cataphract: The elite masters of the short double-point spear and soldiers of The Holy Cavalry.
- Cleave of Rin, The: Nickname given to the Seed Lands most famous warrior, Irla.
- Continent, The: Big fucking landmass.
- Cú Chulainn: Famous hero from Irish mythology. May also be famous hero from Griff mythology. See also: Warpdog.
- Cut, The: Huge canyon that separates The Dawn Waste and Seed Lands from The Plains of Un.
- Dawn Waste, The: Barren region in the centre of The Continent. Contains a vast canyon known as The Cut, which protected the wealthy Seed Lands from invasion from the south. Until it didn’t.
- Dead Gods: The focal point of religious belief on The Continent.
- Dead Gods Garden (desert): Mysterious place in the desert that no one has returned from.
- Dead Gods Garden, The (nightclub): Simultaneously prestigious & shithole-y nightclub in New Kyushu. See: Bouncer-X.
- Dead Gods of the Dawn Waste: Biker faction of The New Kyushu Motorcycle Club. Reside predominantly in the wastelands outside the city of New Kyushu. Emblem: X
- Dimension Engine: Mysterious giant contraptions that have something to do with dimensions.
- Doran (Crow): A foul-mouthed talking crow. Best friend to Koa (aka The Endling).
- Doran (SonLogan): Troubled young lad from The Souse area of High Wail. His surname is common for the region - SonNameOfFather, DaughterNameOfMother.
- Dragon Rider: For those who hail from the West of The Continent, near the great lake of Elon's Fingertip and the jungles of The Great Verdant, Dragons are the mount of choice. Badasses.
- Elayda of Green Temple: Champion of Green Temple. Bestowed with the most sacred gift of the Ultheraic religion - The Sight of Gods - which confined her to the Temple and effectively retired her from war. Lover of Irla of Rin. Absconded with Irla when the Hordes of Un descended on the Seed Lands.
- Electroghosts: Biker faction of The New Kyushu Motorcycle Club. These ones tend to stick to the city. Emblem: Bolt.
- Elon’s Fingertip: Big round lake in the centre of The Continent. The story goes that one of the Dead Gods (Elon) made it by pushing his finger into the ground. It was probably a comet though.
- Endling, The: AKA Koa. A former superstar warrior with strange powers who lost the power, stole a bunch of money from her former master and is now on the run. Best friends with Doran & War Dog.
- Engines, The: See: Dimension Engines.
- Enon Derris: Medium-sized town on the shores of The Mourning Sea, in a region called The Souse in High Wail.
- Excubitor: Guard the walls in the city of Green Temple. Don’t move, even an inch, unless called to action or their shift ends.
- Exile, The: Mysterious character who is trapped on an asteroid. Speaks in a very grandiose way. One of two beings prophesied to bring about either the end or beginning of all creation. The other is The Oracle.
- Gas: The air in Endling’s world is toxic if breathed for longer than a few seconds, so everyone breathes ‘gas’ through helmet-mounted ventilators when outside. The helmets can also be ritualistic and have religious connotations.
- Gawyle, Scribe of Kreyte: Historian from the city of Kreyte in the Seed Lands.
- Gods, Sight of: A gift bestowed only to very few. According to legend, gives the receiver direct contact with the Dead Gods in Ulthera.
- Godthief Mountains: Mountain range in the south east of The Continent. Separates society from the frozen wasteland of The Vast Aught.
- Goliath: One of the Ookami. Big. Mean.
- Granite Throne, The: Seat of the leaders in the city of Kreyte.
- Great Verdant, The: Huge swathe of land covered in jungle and rain forest. Contains hairless amphibious monkeys. Among other things.
- Green Temple: The hub of the Ulteraic religion on the continent. Huge city that doubles as a temple.
- Halberdier: Soldiers & guardians of Green Temple. AKA The Armour Crushers.
- HeadGear: High fashion. This is what the wealthy of New Kyushu spend their money on. Manufactured by 3Moons. May also have religious connotations.
- Heavenslain: The highest peak on The Continent, situated in the mountain range known as The Nightcutters.
- High Wail: A region in the North-West of The Continent. Known for tough people and inclement weather. Includes within it’s territory the inland Mourning Sea.
- High Wail Rook: A card game played throughout the Continent. Also a prophesied being of vast power.
- Holy Cavalry, The: The cavalry of Green Temple.
- Holy Lines, The: The source of Magiq on The Continent. Holy Lines are said to contain the voices of the Dead Gods. When harnessed correctly can bestow great power. Often used to connect warriors to their weapons. Also often are placebos that have no real use - many bedeck themselves in Lines that are merely props.
- Hordes of Un, The: Natives of the Plains of Un, situated between The Dawn Waste / Seed Lands & the Vast Aught. Considered barbarians by more aloof peoples. Famously invaded The Seed Lands when Un was wracked by Famine. See: The War of the Un.
- Irla of Rin: The most famous warrior in The Seed Lands and perhaps the entire continent. Unparalleled in battle-prowess. Infamous too, after abandoning her masters when The Seed Lands were invaded by the Hordes of Un, leaving in secret to forge a life of peace with her lover, Elayda of Green Temple.
- Jiro the Monk: Strange little man, whose order believes ‘gas’ to be unnatural and so wear fake ones made of wood. As a result, most are dying of a condition called ‘Blackbone’, which is highly unpleasant and slowly, painfully, fatal. Something of a historian and, some say, prophet, Jiro wrote many texts on religious figures such as The Exile and The Oracle. Believes his own hype.
- K’wathlegonx: If a tree and a monster had a baby and it wanted to eat you.
- Kelak the Swift: Warrior who was famous for being very, very fast. In charge of the outpost that first saw the Hordes of Un approach. Ran to get Irla, found her absconding, aided their escape. Sound fella.
- Knights: As the Seed Lands are governed by merchants who want to protect their investments, mercenaries are hired. All Knights are mercenaries, and all are controlled by the ancient 3Moons Guild. Irla, Elayda and Kelak all fall under this category. They just rank higher because they kick more ass.
- Koa: AKA The Endling. A former superstar warrior with strange powers who lost the power, stole a bunch of money from her former master and is now on the run. Best friends with Doran & War Dog.
- Kreyte: A large city in The Seed Lands.
- Leiko: Shogun in charge of the city of New Kyushu and most of the land surrounding it. Like, to the horizon. Past it even. Powerful.
- Leonard: Monster hunter. Unpleasant personality.
- Magiq: The use of Holy Lines & other religious contraptions can be manipulated such that they do crazy stuff when in the hands of someone who knows how to use them.
- Majik: See: Magiq. They spell it differently in various parts of The Continent.
- Mourning Sea, The: Large inland sea in the northwest of The Continent. Choppy. Miserable.
- New Kyushu: Huge city-nation.
- New Kyushu Motorcycle Club, The: Sentient motorcycle enthusiasts. Split into two factions - the city slicker Electroghosts, and the wasteland-dwelling Dead Gods.
- Nightcutters, The: Vast mountain range that stretches from The Night Waste to The Embers. Contains the highest peak on The Continent - Heavenslain.
- Niita: War Baron from New Kyushu. Hates The Endling & wants her dead.
- Ookami, The: Fearsome band of celebrity warriors under the control of Shogun Leiko & War Baron Niita. Members include Yaeko, Piero, Goliath and, once upon a time - Koa (aka The Endling). Now tasked with hunting Koa down & killing her.
- Oracle, The: One of two beings prophesied to bring about either the end or beginning of all creation. The other is The Exile.
- Parousia: Religious doctrine regarding the return of the Dead Gods from Ulthera. Also the title of a famous religious painting depicting the return.
- Peregrinus: Founder, farmer, messiah, prophet.
- Piero: One of the Ookami. Batshit crazy.
- Prex Machina: A famous religious painting depicting iconography relating to the liturgy ‘The Machine Began to Pray and the Change of All Life Began.’
- Riastrad: The violent rage that consumes Cú Chulainn when provoked enough. Also a model of sentient motorcycle popular among the Electroghosts faction of the NKMC.
- Rin: City on the Auric Coast, most famous for being the birthplace of Irla - the Seed Lands most famous warrior.
- Sacred Lines: See: Holy Lines.
- Seed Lands, The: Fertile region of The Continent famous for merchants and the wealth they create. A Corpocracy run by the Merchant Class. Also famous for the Knights they employ via the ancient guild, 3Moons. Home to the religious epicentre Green Temple and with control over the harbours of the Bay of Gilded. Agriculture, wealth, shipping and religion all controlled there. The home of Power on The Continent, basically.
- Sleipnir: Koa’s faithful, but occasionally untrustworthy, motorcycle. An early model of sentient bike, Sleipnir doesn’t have the razzmatazz of later models like the Riastrad. But he’ll get you where you need to go and he won’t break down. Or at least - he won’t stop even if he’s a bit broken.
- Slowrym: Absolute bastard of a monster. Huge, ugly worm. Can trap prey in bubbles of time displacement, slowing them down. The ‘how’ is as yet unknown.
- Sog, The: Wet, grey area of High Wail on the shores of the Mourning Sea. Miserable. Don’t like people from The Souse.
- Souse, The: Wet, grey area of High Wail on the shores of the Mourning Sea. Miserable. Don’t like people from The Sog.
- Space Demon Assassin: Mysterious character who hunts Space Demons. Which don’t exist, so… not much is known about her. Badass though.
- Swan Bow, The: Famous weapon that once belonged to Elayda of Green Temple but fell into the hands of Baiden the Archer. How he got it is often debated. Some say it was a lover’s gift, which would piss Irla off no end. Other’s accuse Baiden of being a thief. Arrows fired from The Swan Bow do not miss.
- Tree Bastard: See: K’wathlegonx.
- Ulthera: Legendary place where, according to custom, the Dead Gods disappeared after they became.. dead. No descriptions of what it’s actually like exist. Often used as a negative descriptor, eg ‘It was as cold as Ulthera & I froze me balls off.’ So people think it’s cold anyway.
- Un: Large grassland region between the frozen north of the Vast Aught and the Dawn Waste / Seed Lands. Home to nomadic tribes that once infamously invaded The Seed Lands when wracked by famine. See: Hordes of Un, The.
- Vast Aught, The: As cold as Ulthera. The frozen south of The Continent.
- Voidhunter, The: Yet another mysterious figure, Encountered by Leonard in the bowels of a ruined Engine. Instantly dislikable (to Leonard at least). Know-it-all.
- War Dog: Koa's lifelong protector and friend. Origin unknown. One day he was just .. there.. She thought he was going to eat her, but he didn’t. Instead he’s watched her back whenever he’s around (he disappears sometimes, who knows where he goes.)
- War of the Un, The: The biggest tragedy to befall the Seed Lands. Driven by famine from the Plains of Un, the nomadic people invaded the wealthy Seed Lands. They would not have prevailed had Irla involved herself in the fighting. But she absconded with her lover, Elayda, and the merchant class was destroyed.
- Warpdog: See: Cú Chulainn.
- Warpspasm: See: Riastrad. Also a model of car made by 3Moons Automotive.
- Yaeko: Another of the Ookami. Perhaps the most famous, after Koa. Had her own tv show, sponsorships with Acid Cola and BrightThorn spears, and the largest fanbase of any of the Ookami. Was the first to find Koa during the televised hunt…
